Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Shown below are some commonly asked questions with the corresponding answer. We have attempted to anticipate your questions, concerns and needs, but if you don't find the information you need, please feel free to contact any of our friendly customer service representatives by any of the methods listed below and they will gladly answer any of your questions:

Are choke chains really dangerous?
The short answer is Yes. The more in depth answer is that choke collars represent a much greater threat than that of simply choking your dog. As shown in an article written by Robin Walker, Veterinary and Dog Behaviorist, in the 1999 issue of The Veterinary Record. The commonly recorded injuries to dogs from the misuse of choke collars include:
  • Injured ocular vessels
  • Tracheal and oesophageal damage
  • Severely sprained necks
  • Cases of fainting
  • Transient foreleg paralysis
  • Recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis
  • Hind leg ataxia
It is better to use a humane device to control your puppy or dog which is the reason we developed the iWalkMyDog pet walking solution.

Do trainers and veterinarians recommend using choke collars?
The majority of trainers and veterinarians not only don't recommend the use of a choke collar in training a puppy or controlling a dog, they strongly recommend NOT using one. The risks involved in using a choking device to control or train your pet are simply too high to justify using one. It is much safer and just as effective to use a humane device, like the iWalkMyDog pet walking solution.

How does the iWalkMyDog pet walking solution work?
The iWalkMyDog pet walk solution does not apply pressure to an animals neck. The harness system humanely restrains animals using its patent pending technique. This device is easy to use so that even children and the elderly can handle large breeds safely and humanely.
